Not going to be doing any kind of VCR to DVD dubbing, but just a VCR to watch older VCR tapes but also have a DVD reader/write to burn tv stuff to a disk. Been looking at an PIONEER DVR-RT500 and a Toshiba but heard few others are good to. Just not sure. I have a JVC now, picture quality is ok, even with component video hooked up. Looking for something better. I'd like the player to also support DVD-R and DVD+r provideo best picture quality over component as I can get since I dont have HDMI on my 27" HD widescreen. I'd hook up my VCR but I don't have the space for it.
Thanks.

If you don't have room for a VCR you'll have to be carefull as most VCR/DVD combos don't let you run video from the VCR through component video. You still have to use RF or composite.
