  1. Can anybody suggest how to copy a region 1 DVD DL to a DVD-5 without making it region free? I need a region 1 DVD to test if my DVD player is region free.

    Thanks for your help

DVD Shrink will let you do this.

  3. If I use DVDShrink it says my DVd is region 1 and my DVD-ROM is region 2. So it won't copy the DVD.

  4. rip it with dvd decrypter, with anydvd running in the background,or use the set of anydvd/clonedvd.
then use shrink/dvd2one to make it fit a dvd5.
anydvd comes with region overriding settings so anydvd will play on any drive.

If you have a region 1 disc, why do you need to copy it to test your player ? Just use the original. Most backups are region free anyway, so it's not an issue what region it is.

I must be missing something. Why not pop the Region 1 DVD DL in ?

Anyway, if you can rip the DVD using ripping software such as DVDDecrypter or DVDFab Decrypter, use DVDShrink to set the region to region 1:

Or you can use IFOEdit to do this also.
    If in doubt, Google it.
