  1. Hey all, Slight audio problem, Had it for ages but never really done much about it as the sound was fine... But I have 5.1 speakers on my pc, I know for a fact that I can get the two inner speakers working fine, This is the same with the two outer speakers (Satellites), But the middle one just doesn't work, I can't ever get it to play, I don't know much about sound from pc, So this is why i'm here asking.

I know that I go into CONTROL PANEL > CMI Audio Config, Once I open that I have an options box come up saying "C-Media 3D Audio Configuration" with various modes.

    Analog & Digital
    Common Mode
    Xear 3D Mode

I have the option to select headphones, 2ch, 4ch and 6ch (Which is whats selected).

Base enhancement is ticked and analog and Xear 3D mode is selected.

Maybe someone could shed some light on this for me?

    Thanks to anyone who can.

Are you using onboard audio? If so, are you sure it supports 5.1 channels?

If it does, you should either be pluging the speakers into your computer with 3 plugs or a digital plug.

If you already are, then maybe update your audio drivers or see if there's some companion software for your sound card / motherboard sound?

How are your speakers connected to your computer? Are they all connected to each other, and then there is one wire going into your computer? Also, how many audio jacks are there where your speakers are hooked into your computer?

  5. It has a control box that all the speakers connect into and then the box connects to the back of the pc.

I think somehow, The jack where the microphone is ment to go there is one of the speaker connections... You see, I never set them up, They wasn't as good as they are now when I set them up, Then someone else looked at them and made them sound better by moving some bits around.

As CaZeek asked - How many audio jacks are plugged into your computer?
There should be 3 jackplugs that go from your speakers control box to your computer sound card.

Yeah there is, The speaker control box is connected to the pc via the 3 jacks in the back of the tower, but for some reason, the 5th one doesn't work.

It could be something as simple as a faulty center/bass connection lead, or maybe plugged into the wrong socket on the back of your computer.
I'm guessing you are using on-board sound rather than a separate soundcard (C Media do both).
When you go into CONTROL PANEL > CMI Audio Config, and set it to 6ch, there might be a little display that shows which socket on the back of your computer becomes what output. If not, you'll have to check with your motherboard or soundcard manual.
On my setup, the socket marked LINE OUT (green) on the computer becomes front speakers out when set to 6ch, the socket marked LINE IN (blue) becomes rear speakers out, and the socket marked MIC IN (brown) becomes the center/subwoofer speaker out. Yours might be different, but maybe you can check and see that your 3 jackplugs are in the right sockets.
