I have been successfully converting RealMedia files to MPEG by creating a Wave file with EOVideo, and converting it with the video with TMPGEnc, but have had problems with 2 files (both from the same source as many files which have been successfully converted.)

With one of the files, the sound stops partway into the wave file generated, though the file length stays the same as the original. Playing the clip as a Real file, however, the sound is fine throughout the episode.

With the second clip, I can create the wave file with no problems, but when I try to create the video, the tool crashes, whether I use TMPGEnc or EOVideo. Again, the original plays fine.

Is there anything I could do to overcome these problems? I am using RealAlternative if that is relevant.

    Thank you.

Similar issues to these are often the result of corrupt files. Playing of the original files is usually not an issue because the player will often correct/skip minor issues. However, when you are attempting to convert files, the tool needs to be able to read the entire file without errors. I'm not familar with any tools for fixing/correcting errors in RealMedia files, but that is most likely what needs to take place before your conversion.
