I keep getting this error:
**ERROR: [mplex] MUX STATUS: Frame data under-runs detected!
when trying to encode with subtitles-are there any obvious places to start looking to solve this?

okay–I haven't done it the same way this time. The last time I tried making an mpeg from an AVI then subtitling it. This time I tried doing both at once. I've tried both methods a couple of times now-all un-sucessfully...

It seems you want to create a VCD, but you use an incorrect size of 640x256, which is not VCD compliant. So do it again and make sure to follow these steps in this exact order: 1. Open source file in ffmpegX. 2. Select VCD target in the Summary tab. 3. Click Encode.
