https://forum.videohelp.com/topic272736.html but use virtualdub-mpeg2 instead. And I guess you have a wmv because wma is just audio.

Thankyou. Well yeah, the clip is really an audio file, but it has pictures to go along with it.

it has all been done in Windows Movie maker, i was going to do the subtitles on there too, but it was tooo long.

Thanks for the help! I really appreciate it. By the way, are there any tips you could give me before i start?

WMA is Windows Media Audio, so I guess you have either WMV or ASF.
I have no clue is there possibility to add text subtitles to ASF container or WMV files in Windows Media Encoder (go to microsoft website and read there?), but regardless - you have quite few options.

You can create text-based subtitles in one of the common formats (i.e. SRT is supported by all standalone players capable of playing MPEG-4 files)
    To do it: Subtitle Workshop
Im not sure will standalone players play WMV/ASF with text subts though there are many computer software player that play text subts with almost any video formats. That would be easiest way if you are planning to play it on a computers only (no need to recode the video file at all)

You can create "burned-in" subtitles (the ones that are 'burnt' in the video).
Again - I have no clue about WMV as I don't use any proprietary formats, so I would reencode it to standard/common AVI container with MPEG-4 video and MP3 audio (and I would create text-based subtitles in SRT format as above, but if you prefer burnt-in subts you would add them during video conversion with plugins).
To do it: VirtualDub (probably mod version to handle WMV), XViD MPEG-4 codec (if you dont already have it)

Each methods have many guides available,
