    Ok ! Here's the situation :

I got one Japanese Subtitle with japanese characters , in SRT format . The problem is , I dont have Japanese Windows , so I can see only strange characters wich certainly is not japanese or other language . Is there any kind of answer to my problem ? I would like to transform to BMP and then "insert" these using VirtualDub .

Any kind of tip are welcome !

    Thank you .

Have you installed the Japanese Language pack?
It should be an install option in Windows Update.

An alternative is NJStar's Communicator, usable for Chinese, Japanese, and Korean, autodetect and display, esp. for text files.

Seems to work in subtitles too. I've tried to mess with the idea of turning the subtitles I worked out into Chinese, and the few lines I did showed up correctly.

Thanks for the answer guys . I tried a program called Jwpce . I used this program and i could see all the characteres like kanji and others stuff. But , my doubt remains ... How could I do to insert this subtitle in divix movie ? I guess this is the only way , because i tried also many players like , bsplayer , vlc player etc etc , but i could only see strange and messy subtitle characters .

You have to make sure the font used in BSPlayer and such supports Unicode, and is using the right "codepage" if chosen.

i solved my problems using this tutorial . It takes only 10 minutes to "insert" the subs on film . Instead of spending almost 2 hours using VirtualDub.
