  1. Sorry for my bad english.

Always when i want to play a DVD/SVCD-File, the Windows Media Player (6.4) is searching in the internet for a MPEG 2 Codec, but can't find any. After that the Player is searching on my Hard-Disk and uses the WinDVD codec. Each time the Player is searching i have to wait 20 sec, but that's awful. I don't want to use WinDVD to play MPEG 2 Files because, it's much easier to play with doubleclicking a file.

Don't want another codec, beause i think the WinDVD codec is one of the best MPEG 2 codecs.

How can i add an entry for these codec-files into the registry? so that the Media Player plays the MPEG 2 files without searching like normal MPEG 1 files?

    MPEG2X.dll
    VID16.dll
    s.ac3
    iviaudio.ax
    iviaudioeff.ax
    ivinav.ax
    ivivideo.ax

    Thank you for Answers

  2. Footpilz, hrm...by default the installation of winDVD should allow media player to play those mpeg 2 files automatically, without having to "search" online for it. try deleting winDVD and reinstalling it...
