im new in this guy sorry.Recently i bought this dvd player,Chili Yamada MX305 CU,they said it wasa good divx player. But im having some problems to read some of the series i have in divx. Some episodes, says UNSOPPORT AUDIO,gives me the image, but not the audio, and some episodes, after a while ,start to give me "cubes",and a weird image. Is there anything i can do to fix this? Thanks,im really dissapointed with all this, since i bought this player almost only for this.

It's easy for those of us which do this stuff all the time , but when buying these type of player's , it come's down to two thing's .

It's buyer's beware (could be a crap unit)

Having looked in the manual's of these thing's , they never say what the standard's are for divx encoded file's that are acceptable by the player's .. it should say "go fish" .. as there is no information ...

    or

Disc's with your video on them are in an unrecognizable format , video container , audio type , video aspect and size .

Dealing with the second problem :

When ever encoding video , make sure when you resize , the height and width are dividable by 4 as required by most codec's .

Depending on video aspect ratio :

    For dvd pal of 720x576 , I resize both down by 80 pixel's .

Use xvid , divx , realmagic codec's for video (most compatable) .
Video bitrate should not peak above 1200kpbs

Mine normally for a full title is between 550 and 850kbps , dual pass is better .

    Audio as mp3 .

    I use between 4 and 6 kbps , normally 48kbit/s , 22,050hz , stereo . (never any audio issue) .

Most title's will fit on a cd this way and retain good quality , two cd's mean's quality up , no need to resize .

    ------------------------------------------------------------------

If after trying another re-encoded avi using setting's similar to what I use , and you still get problem's , it's the player with the issue .

Consider buying hyundai unit's ... here they have 3 years warantee ... if they screw up in that time , it gose back .

So far it has played everything I have created or converted for it ...

    ------------------------------------------------------------------

Should you re-encode to similar setting's as I use and it now play's .. you know what to do now ... re-encode your video's ...
