I'm trying to burn an avi file (xvid) to watch on dvd but the same is with 1280x532 and the DVD player always says 'unsupported format', so I reduced it to 600x336 and run perfectly, is there any way to run it in 1280x532?

Nope. Most divx dvd players do not support higher resolutions than around 720x576.
