A Couple Of Questions...

whas goin on everybody...im new to this so please dont think that im a moron 4 asking these questions

i downloaded like four full movies off morpheus and i want to make VCD's...they are all avi and divx...so i downloaded TMPEG and began decoding them as mpeg's...it worked fine the first time bu then it crashed a couple of times after...i restarted and it took 3.5 hours for a movies...do u guys know y it froze? and does it ususally take that long?

now after i got one movie as a mpeg i tried to burn it using Nero...it said there wasnt enuff memory and to please inset a medium with huigher capacity...im using 700mb discs...i have no idead y this happened...i followed all the instructions that were given and im still stumped...by the way the movie when converted to mpeg is 903 mb...

1)your processor speed will limit your encoding times so older machines will be slower and slower. also more RAM, faster hard drive, and more knowledge of comptuers will help too. with a 433 celeron the time is about 8 hours per hour of avi/divx so you seem to be doing ok in that area.
2)700 meg cds usually means 700 megs of data; however, you may overburn them slightly with a burner that will allow you to do so but not up to 903 megs. use tmpeg and mpg tools section to make each cd roughly 700 megs per disk or you'll never burn a thing
3)tmpeg crashes on some people some of the time. i don't run into that problem so somebody else may can help with that

thnx a lot....i hear u bout the processprs and i thought mine was slow...im running a 900 athlon with 384 ram...so i guess its doin fine....as for the cd u r saying that i should split the newly made mpeg into two...i think this is what u mean but im not sure...and if it is can u tell me how to split it or make it smaller....and once again THNX!

have you checked for avi corruption? get DivFix to do that.
if corrupted, download again, else you anoying atrifacts all the time
