I have a Pioneer DVR-610 (Same as DVR110) and everytime I rip something my computer restarts and I get a device error from windows. Any help? Anyone have this hapen to them before?

PS. I just installed the DVD BUrner on the computer I just built. AMD Athlon 64 4800+ X2 and A8N32-SLI Deluxe. I need the DVD burner and I need to rip my movies, I feel helpless without it.

What position is it in, master, slave, primary or secondary channel? Any other problems with the computer? Does it shutdown when encoding or only when you rip with the drive? Does it play DVDs OK? What program are you ripping with? Can you burn with the drive?

A lot of questions, but what you are asking about is a little unusual.

Well it is hooked up to master on the secondary cable, I just switched it to master on the primary_IDE cable. Now its actually telling me I need to update rivers, so I am going to try that. Uhmmm ripping videos (specificaly VCD's) through windows by just dragging and dropping. Don't know too much about DVD burners and need to learn. Have not tried burning. I tried installing FEAR and seemed to install fine, but when I put in the play disc, it says wrong disc or not recognizeable.
