I've never burned DL before and have 2 DL coasters in a row using Sony DRX-810UL and Nero Express software that came with it. I'm trying to burn uncompressed DVD-9 movie using DVDShrink and Nero. The firmware is the latest 2.05D (flashed from 2.05B) and the media is Verbatim +R DL (recommended by Sony). I've heard Nero is not DL friendly. Any suggestions? I tried DVDDecrypter but it keeps crashing on my setup. The drive works fine on DVD-RW burning compressed movies. Thanks!

    Here's the error message:

create iso of ur disc u wish to use with nero or dvdinfo or some other program then use imgburn if u want a freebie program for dual layer burning......pretty much the burn engine of dvddecrypter. i think the best dual layer burning program is record now max deluxe 7.2 or 7.3 i forget. it makes it where there is no slight pause or freeze between layer transition when reading on older dvd players

you really should do a little more research on this site before attempting to burn another expensive dl disc. there are extensive threads on burning dl media.

  4. I have the 810UL, used Verbatim DL media along with Decrypter, no problems. I'm wondering why DD keeps crashing your system.

Serial number ... WHERE ... WHERE is it ??

    I'm joking ... I bought Nero 7 ... a couple of months ago.

Dual Layer ... I was using CopytoDVD and Record Now Max deluxe 7.2 or 7.3 ... but not anymore.

I now use AnyDVD ... CloneDVD2 [to remove the junk I dont need to view] ... and then I use DVDShrink to make an image and burn the image with Imgburn. That method works just fine.
