My VCD's work on the comp, but not on the DVD Player, why!?

Help, I'm a total newbie at this. I've used a lot of CD's, thrown them away because it didnt play on the DVD player. But today, I made a VCD with Ulead DVD Factory. It's a great tool. So, the VCD works only on the computer, and not the DVD. Before I kill myself trying to figure it out, I'm gonna ask you guys.. why? why doesnt it work on the DVD player? I'm using a Samsung M101.

Does ur player suport VCD?

Not all do. Their r many players that don't.

Does it require a special type of CD-R?

DOes it only play CD-RW?

I am definetly sure my player supports VCD. Don't know about the other two questions. I checked on VCDhelp's DVD Player guide. It says my DVD Player can't play CD-RW's and CD-R's. My father said his friend copied a VCD to a CD-RW and tested it on our DVD Player, and it worked!!! So it must be something I'm doing wrong.
