DVDShrink has worked on every DVD tried until today, and on this one particular DVD DVDShrink does nothing with Task Manager indicating "Program is not responding" when "Open disk" or "Open files" is selected. DVDDecrypter decrypts the DVD, but DVDShrink and Task Manager give same results when DVDShrink tries to open the DVDDecrypter decrypted files on harddrive. I tried decrypting again with DVDDerypter through PSL2 plugin for DVDShrink after installing it, but the problem persists. I suspect it may be some new copy protection on this particular DVD and need a fix for the problem. I also tried DVD Fab Decrypter which wouldn't decrypt and gave same result as DVDShrink, i.e. did nothing with Task Manager indicating "Program is not responding." Is there a way this DVD can be shrunk to fit on 4.7 GB media, or are some DVDs unable to backup?

  2. this has been covered MANY times on the forums......use dvd fab decrypter and then dvdshrink and you should be able to do literally any dvd around...make sure to check for updates OFTEN (by that i mean like once every 3 days or so) as there are always new forms of copy protection that come around that they have to shatter within a few days to keep everyone happy :P

As stated I already tried dvd fab decrypter which reacted same as DVDShrink. However, on a subsequent attempt with DVDShrink I was interrupted for about 5 minutes, and I was about to end task in Task Manager when DVDShrink began shrink process of DVDDerypter decrypted files on HDD and completed shrinking but took about 1 hour 30 minutes instead of the usual time of about 45 minutes; just out of curiosity I repeated the test on another system with a different burner which gave same results. Then I decided to repeat the test but used DVD as source, and the results were same as for HDD files, i.e. took about 5 minutes to begin and twice as long as normal to shrink. Dvd fab decrypter may work too after 5 minute delay, but I didn't test it. Has anyone else experienced this quirky delay problem? I suspect some copy protection to be the cause but am unsure.

Curiosity finally got me to repeat test using dvd fab decrypter which yielded exact same results, i.e. about 5 minutes delay with Task Manager indicating "Program is not responding" but finally beginning and completing decryption followed by DVDShrink completing shrink in about twice normal time. Very odd but very consistent behavior with this DVD, with DVDDecrypter being the only program tested experiencing no delay.
