Hoping someone can help...after upgrading to Nero 7 from 6, was unhappy
with 7 so I downgraded back to 5.5. Now when I attempt to burn onto the
same DVD+R's that I've always used (FujiFilm up to 4x, Nero tells me
illegal medium, sinse.... I have uninstalled Nero, ran the complete removal
tool, deleted the ahead folder from the registry then re-installed Nero
    5.5. Any help? Thanks

Why not put 6 back in? I liked 5.5 but it wouldn't work with my newer burners. It may have the same problem with some media.

I assume you mean you ran the Nero Clean tool. That should have cleared all the remnants if you used the right versions of it.

What burner do you have? Nero 5.5 does not support all the burners that 6.0 or greater does.

Nero 5.5 is CD writing software. It does not support modern Operating System environments or DVD disc burning.

I thought 5.5 was the earliest version of Nero to support XP, though.

    Edit: Later, that same day...

It does not support modern Operating System environments or DVD disc burning.
Actually, I remember using 5.5 with a Pioneer external burner on a WinME setup to create DVD data discs. The Pioneer came with Nero 5.1, if I remember correctly, which also worked to create data DVDs (again, IIRC).
If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them?
