There seems to be a controversy overh whether or not to capture at a higher resoltuion vs. at 480X480 when you're going to save to a SVCD.
Problem is, I cannot see a way to capture at anythign other than 704x480 in Premier. The resolution settings are greyed out, even if I select customize.
What do ya think?

The resolution you capture at is determined by the setting you set when you started your project. If you set new project 720x576 PAL you entire project will be that.
Either alter your project size before being or capture with another program AVI_IO or Virtual_dub and import your data. your data will be rerendered to your project settings.

Thanks for your reply
I presumed that it had to be set at the time I loaded the project. So I tried that. And, as I said in my original post, the settings are greyed out, even if I select Custom. What I didn't say is that I am trying to set that right when I first open Premier, and are selecting settings.
Also, I just finished trying Virtual Dub. Can't get it to work. When I first load it, and select CApture, it comes up with a message "Cannot find a driver to draw this non-RGB image format. And when I tell it to capture, it doesn't see anything. Your reference to "import your data" may be a hint. That sounds to me like you're talking about loading a file that has already been captured.
Thanks...
