    Hi all,
I'm going to be capturing Hi8 video using a PC capture (S-Video). I am going to be editing it using AviSynth and then authoring it to a DVD. In the capture software I have an option to select the resolution. There are about 20 different choices. Which one should I choose to get the best quality, the highest? Also, the capture software says it detects 5?? lines. I'm guessing that is the number of vertical lines. My choices do not have that vertical number as an option.

    I'm using a P4 3.2 CPU

    Thanks,
    Chris

  3. At the moment, I'm also capturing Hi8 tapes, and using 720x480. Hi8 has 420 scan lines, so you have to capture in 720x480 to save the full resolution. Same goes for S-VHS.
