Crossflashed Sony 810A --> Benq dw1640. From what I've read here and there, I shoudl be able to use QSuite and I can't. After installing the dialog box appears that it can only be used with certain BenQ drives, then nothing. Anyone have a clue? Budz?

    Thanks

That box always pops up first, just click ok and it will open.

Sorry, perhaps I wasn't clear. I am clicking OK and QSuite does not open. Program does nothing. No error messages, it just doesn't open.

Odd that your crossflashed drive is not able to use QSUITE 2.1. The dialog box appears and nothing else happens? another box should open up which is the QSUITE progam itself. Is the drive set to MASTER or SLAVE or CABLE SELECT? Some have had problems with the drive showing up in QSUITE if it's not set to MASTER or SLAVE. You could try posting your problem at the BENQ FORUM.

Thanks Budz, It's jumpered as a Master. I double checked everything yesterday when I opened up case to change the IDE cable, power connector, and check the label on this drive. As you might recall, I also had a problem burning Verbatim DVD+R DL Media. The IDE Cable was the only thing I hadn't done so far. Changed from a round 80 to a Flat 40. For some reason I can only use FujiFilm and Memorex DVD+R DLs so far which burn at 2.4X. Couldn't burn the Verbatims prior to this at any speed. Next time Verbatims go on sale for $20, I'll see if the cable change made a difference. I also dumped Sonic's MyDVD and installed Cyberlink PowerDirector 5, which at least comes out with updates periodically. Sonic almost never updates their Products and their Burn Engine is ancient.
