I have a new computer but don't like the cheap drive that came with it. I hear that benq is great for burning and scanning with dvd info pro. Which is the best model???

BENQ no longer manufactures their own dvd burners. They sold their optical drive dept. a few years ago to LITEON. In it's hay day the BENQ 1620, 1640, 1650 & 1655 were the best drives to use for dvd burning. BENQ used the nexperia chipset for their drives at that time. The only way to get one of those drives I mentioned is from EBAY. Check out the BENQ Forum at Cdfreaks.com.

The best drive to use for scanning with CD/DVD SPEED other than a BENQ is a LITEON or SAMSUNG dvd burner. If you want a solid dvd burner get yourself a PIONEER 115/215 (if you can find one) or 116/216. Then get a LITEON or SAMSUNG for scanning purposes. PIONEER doesn't support scanning discs. PIONEER's website did have some 115/215 drives for $34.99 with one cent shipping. I just purchased a silver 115 from them.
