I'll try to keep this short..

Keep in mind all work is for a PAL DVD.

    1. I have captured about 30 minutes worth of video from a sony trv-330e using an 8mm tape. It looks like night mode or something was turned on indoors and the video is extremely grainy. The rest of the videos taken from other times on the tape are perfect, so thats how i came to the night mode conclusion. My nokia phone has a similar effect. TMPGenc detects the captured avi as upper field first... Is this correct? Should i render it out to .M2V at LFF or UFF?

    2. Im using Premiere 6.5 to make a movie slideshow from about 50 stills with music. What do i need to resize the pictures too? I know the res is 720x576... but from memory, ive read before that they should be resized twice in photoshop to one res then the next and then the TV will stretch them... can someone please clear this up for me.. also if the images should be progressive or interlaced to stop flicker as well..

Edit: Photos are from a Digital Still camera, not the camcorder.

    Cheers!

For the camcorder, if it's DV transfer it's prob. lower, but analog capture is often upper. SIngle frame advance in prem etc. should show you if you have any doubts -- remember most nle's will assume dv & lower at full frame non-mpg2.

FOr the pix sizing, Adobe has a great doc in their knowledgebase detailing what size to use for what in prem. For DV/DVD etc. the idea is to actually distort the still, so when prem get's it, it corrects the perspective.
