OK - here's one for all the tech gurus (and please correct me if I'm totally wrong about anything):
When burning a DVD/CD, does the intensity of the laser increase as the burning speed increases? I'm assuming that the "burn intensity" would have to increase when burning at 8X speed as opposed to 4x speed, simply because the disc is spinning faster- is this correct?
If that is the case, would always burning at max speed actually decrease the lifespan of the laser, since it would be constantly operating at "max burn intensity"; in other words, would burning at say, 2x or 4x speed increase the operational life of the burner?

Just curious.....
