I was playing around with some dv codecs and lost my original sony dv codec v2.26. I still have the sonydv.dll in a program folder but cannot get my computer to recognize it. How can I install it? I tried to use regsvr32 but keep getting an error.

I does not give an option to install.
I tried to system restore but it will not allow me to. I think my restore point got corrupted. -
Or you can use the Panasonic DV codec. It comes with instructions:

Ok I think I fixed it. I used an installer for version 2.23 and intalled that version. I then copied version 2.26 and pasted it in the system32 folder replacing version 2.23. This shouldn't screw up anything should it?
