Hi. Is there a way via software to brighten/lighten mpg files? I have some dark shaded mpeg files that I would like to brighten/lighten and then encode as DVD compatible. What would be the best sofware to try for what I'm trying to do?
Thanks much.

One thing to note is that they will always look darker on a computer monitor than they do on a TV. But if you want to brighten them, you will have to re-encode them.
If you use TMPGEnc encoder, it has a adjustment for brightness. Other encoders likely have this adjustment also. If they are AVI files, then VirtualDub has brightness filters available.
