  1. Hi,
I have been trying to make a VCD and sofar all I have is a lot of coasters!

The discs that I have made are playable on my PC by opening the dat file but not on my DVD player, (Sony DVP-S300) I can read all the folders/files that are created on the discs from my PC

I have tried using Nero Ver 5, CDRWin to make a disc - same results - following the guides on this site to the letter and read the FAQ to find an answer.

Is there something I doing wrong, perhaps the disc blanks I am using or my DVD player just won't play VCD?

    Thanks

    Paul

  2. BioPaul,

Check under the compatibility list on the left (DVD Players) to see if your player supports CD-R/CD-RW. If it doesn't, you're out of luck. Jordan

  3. What I would suggest is do what many of us have done as "Newbie's" Look at one of the many guides listed on this site, I used the standard VCD guide on my first try. DO NOT CHANGE anything in the guide on your first shot, do exatly as the guide tells you step-by-step, after you have completed the guide, including the burn (Bero/EasyCD/WINCD, whatever you use, it's in the guide, than come back on line and explain exactly what happend. I know you may have heard this all before, I know, I tried to take a "shortcut" through the process and failed the first time out, good luck and let us know how you did.
