Here is the problem. I have a 7 gig dvd that wont fit onto a 4.7 gig dvd. So i went out to purchase a 9.4 gig dvd double sided with 4.7 gig on each side. I got the first 4 gig of the dvd movie on one side just fine. The problem is I want to put the other 3 gig on the other side. Here is how I did the process. I made a disc image. I mounted it from toast titanium. I copied the video folder to my hard drive so i could work with the locked video. On the first side of the disc I kept all of the .bup .ifo files and the ts.vob files 01.1 - 01.4.vob. So I figured out that if i mounted the image and put it in toast then deleted 01.5-01.7 from toast the dvd would work out just fine. But now here is the trick. I tried the same process by mounting the image putting it in toast and deleting 01.1-01.4.vob and it didnt work. Any body have any suggestions? I basically want to split the dvd into two parts so i can play half on the first side and half on the second side. I dont care about using the extras, but i would be nice to have them. I also dont want to use dvd studio etc to do it or complicated programs. If i could just have the plain video that would be cool too. If i can do the first half of the movie, it is logical to assume i can do the second half. The problem is I think the dvd looks for the first file which is 01.1.vob which if i put it in the trash can it just puts up an error message. So what would be a logical step I think would be to rename the files. For example renaming the last 3 files i want to put on the second half from 01.5.vob to 01.1.vob? So what im asking is for any suggestions or how could i rename the files since they are locked? Sorry for the long post. Thanks for the help.
