  1. I have a double sided commercial dvd, one where I have to go to the dvd player and flip the disc in order to watch the rest of the movie. I'd like to rip it and burn it to a double layer disc without doing any compression. I searched this site for about 15 minutes looking for a guide but I didn't find any that specifically dealt with this issue. It seems like I would have to create a new menu that would allow me to access the side two material. Also I would have to make the end of side one link to the beginning of side two. Each side of the double sided disc would have its own layer on the double layer disc.
If this is a big hassle, then burning two single layer dvd discs is what I will do instead. I'd prefer the double layer disc but I'm not willing to spend hours and coasters making it. If somebody has written a guide, please point me to it.
thank you in advance to all who reply

There was also a special DVDRemake guide for your type of disc ('Simplistic Guide to Join two or more Disc DVD/Flipper, keeping full Menus' - at digital-digest.com), but it's no more stored there. I have a .chm copy of it if you are interested.
