hi guys ,i hope i'm not going to bore you with this:
i had a old italian tape (pal)transfered to dvd by a company here in my town.
now since i am in this movie as an actor (22 years ago just a stint)i showed the dvd to my kids ,but they don't speak italian).
i like to try to add subtitles to the darn thing but i don't know how.
i copied all the files of the dvd in a folder on my desktop(it has a bunch of vob ifo and bup in it).
i tried to open the files with DVD ENCORE (which my son told me i can type subtitle to it )but the program does not open those kind of file.
what is the best way to add subtitle to the darn thing ?
and what program lets you add subs to these above mentioned files without converting to something us.
    little help?

try vob2mpeg and import the mpeg in encore.
or try demultiplex the dvd to video and audio files and import encore, demultiplex with rejig or dvddecrypter.
the video and audio will not be reconverted....well it should't if it is dvd compliant...but some crappy authoring tools reencodes everything.
