I use TMPGenc to encode my home videos taken with a digital camcorder. I encode to elementary streams which encodes the audio to MP2 default.
Is the default MP2 audio fine for using in an authoring program? I have read alot about using other programs to encode to AC3 from original AVI file that was captured. I use ffmpeg to encode to AC3. I'm wondering if I can just use TEMPGenc and save the extra step.
I use TDA 1.6 to author and it accepts both MP2 and AC3 to author a DVD. Is there really a difference between the two in the finished product audio quality?
Thanks
D
