i'm trying to join two avi but got an error saying "the audio streams have different data formats". I looked for advice and someone said to used a program "decompress" to decompress the audio of both avi then combined them. The new joined avi works on my computer so i wanted to burn it to play in my standalone dvd player using Avi2Dvd. In the past I successfully made dvds that play on my dvd player, but my joined avi files won't work. I've tried playing on my philips dvd player (get a playback feature error) and on my sony dvd player (some other error).

i was wonder if the problem has to do with the decompressing or something, or if im doing something completely wrong.

Then do NOT join them. You can make them play with no gap in between on the DVD

I think you have to play the the output with IFOEdit before you burn it to the DVD.

why use avi2dvd if it doesn't support multiple avis? use divxtodvd or something else.

or if it only works to convert your video with avi2dvd you can output several dvds and then join them with tmpgenc dvd author.

    or read a guide!

If you have a movie with 2 parts, for example, rename them like this: Test CD1.avi and Test CD2.avi

ok, so did what the avi2dvd guide said about naming the two avi files with CD1 and CD2, then it converted successfuly to DVD iso and stuff, so i burned with DVD Decrypter. I have created other successful DVDs in the past this way, but this one (2 avi files with "audio streams have different data formats") does work on any of my DVD players..**only works with on my computer with powerDVD, no standalone DVD players work**
    any suggestions?
and what about playing output with IFOedit?

i have discovered that it is not only the avi with different audio streams that have the problem. just for a test, i tried joining two other avi files and converting to dvd format with avi2dvd and it doesnt work on any of my standalone dvd player. i have come to the conclusion that join avi files dont work to well when being converted to dvd format.

so, anybody have any ideas and experience with joining and coverting avi files to play on dvd player successfully??
