  1. Hi,

I wonder if you could help please.

    I have a UK PAL Cyberhome DVR1600 May 2005 1600ME.

    Ui : C01855MCE
    Serve : DX041D D 097N
    Adsp : V08.00.01.45 R0.2
    Control : C00000347

    If you're interested!!

I am having problems recording from VHS video via a SCART cable. After recording for a short while, my DVDR1600 says "the tv systems of input and disc mismatch". I wonder if there is anything I can do to stop this please?

It seems to happen whenever the playback of the VHS starts flickering in the slightest...

    Many thanks,

    stokefan.

Although I've never had a problem recording commercial VHS(with Macrovision) via Scart....it might be a Macrovision problem?

  3. nah, it's not Macrovision, it's a video recorded from PAL television.

It seems to be when the film changes channel, or the video changes channel, basically when the picture goes fuzzy the DVD recorder seem to struggle with there being no picture....am I doing somthing wrong or is this how DVD recorders should work?

  4. I noticed that when the source reached the end and showed the snowing screen, my DVR1600MU will stop recording. I guess it may be the same case on your VHS tape that there is no video signal at certain points. A digital video signal processor such as SIMA CT-2 may help as it will reduce sync noise. Check if you VHS has editing mode that can boost the video output signal. Mine is a US version (1600MU) that does not have SCART but S-Video. The S-video input into the recorder becomes very noisy when the output source is weak. I have problem with the S-video output from my old Hi-8 camcorder but not from another camcorder.

  5. I've not heard of one of these SIMA CT-2...what does it do again?

You describe the exact problem I have though, it's annoying as I would like to leave my DVR1600 alone for 3-4 hours at a time backing up my old VHS'! grr!
