  1. Howdy:
DVD of VHS home movies. They were copied on a new Lite-on stand alone DVD recorder. There are about 20 individual items on the disc.
Now my problem, on my computer. Power DVD can read and play all the items.
Windows explorer can read only the first four 4 VOB files.
I had planned on editing item 7 with Pinnacle 9.4.

I went to the Microsoft site and couldnt get any help re UDF file sytem. Disc manager in windows or whatever says they UDF file system is healthy.

    Thanks for the help group.

Did you finalize the disc ?

    R or RW ?

Have you tried reading the disc with something like DVD Decrypter & not windows explorer ?

  3. Yes the disc is finalized as it was recorded on a different burner.

No I havent tried reading with any other program, as I wanted it for Pinnacle movie maker.
One of the files I could read, I used VOBtoMPeg to convert to a mpeg, that went well.

Might try DVDFab Decrypter to copy entire disc, or one of the iso prog. like isobuster. Try the disc in another drive? Check for damage/dirt/scratches on the disc? Clean the drive's lens? Could the 4 vobs include all your video, & possibly just copy if XP sees them?

  6. I ran Isoburster, it showed the balance of the files.
Of course if you want to make use of ISobuster, you need to buy it.

This DVD recorder, has a quaint method of filing on the dvd. I found the other files in a subset of the first group.
Thanks everyone for all your help.
