  1. I have windows 7 and am trying to get footage off a sony digital8 dcr-trv340 for editing. When i plug the cam two out off the three drivers work but it looks like the video driver isn't working. ive tried looking for drivers online but most arnt for windows . i know theres got to be a way to get it to work it use to on my old system. I dont know if it makes a diffrence but im using the DC input on the back not the DV in/out slot on the side. if someone coud give me a few ideas of what to do i would be greatful. and ive already looked into getting xp mode for windows 7 but doesnt work with home edition..

dc input is for the battery charger line. dv out is the way to transfer video. use a firewire connection and windv to capture the video.

WinDV works fine under Win7. I even capture live DV streams as a background task.

you still need to use the dv port and firewire, not usb that is for still pictures and low quality streaming only.
