  2. I dunno but the alba DVD103 is quite good value - it plays VCD and SVCD and has a region hack available using the remote.

  3. Forget that, go to http://www.empiredirect.co.uk and order the Pioneer DV-343 for less than £160.00 inc delivery. This little beauty will play ANYTHING, really well. Its not bursting with features but it's well worth the price. I just got one and I can't leave it alone, It has played every disk I've made (using Nero 5).

    P.S. No I don't work for them

dont get the 113!i been hearing they dont play cd-r's!they can substitute the 113 for the 104(CHECK THE ARGOS SITE YOULL SEE)anyway i got the 104 its worked on everything ive tried, many types of cd-r &cd-rw's,plays mp3 nicely with fil display and folders.vcd work well-for such a cheap player it acts like a 200 pound job.i recommend it.

knoplix, argos claim the spec of the 103 and 104 are identical. so why have they change the number? anybody know? i assume its either to address the issue someone had of the tray opening and closing on its own, or to stop it being multi-region hacked. check and see if yours will work.

  6. well it's ntcs/pal playback, the 103 hack didnt work.it isnt the same as the 103-that one didnt play as much.it must be macrovision free aswell as i have copied a dvd onto vhs no problem.another huge bonus!i ve now tried it with about 10 brands of media and have yet to have a problem.reads mp3's better then my portable mp3cdplayer.files,folder,random etc..havent had a track that skips and a few did on the standalone portable mp3player i have!
i got it mainly for vcd's and im sold!
