Hi all,
Ive got 9 gigs of home video made using DVD Author, with main & track (chapter) menus.
With DVDShrink I shrunk the files to fit on a DVD5. Everything worked great.
Then a month later I shrunk the 9 gigs to a DVD9... but only the first half of the menus work. ie out of 6 chapters only the first 4 work. When the last 2 chapters are selected the dvd player stops. If I select a previous chapter and skip forward, the last 2 chapters play fine.
Is this because DVD Auth 1.5 only supprts dvd5? cant the menu find the final 2 chapters?
or is it a media problem? This is my first DVD9.
media is 'verbatim ( dvdinfo reports - MKM 001)'
burner is 'LiteOn shw 1635s'
thanks for any ideas,
Michael

I believe RecordNow Max 7.5 allows you to set the layer break and does a god job burning. However it may be difficult to get hold of a copy.
Read my blog here.

Woohoo problem solved. Thanks for your input guns1inger, you were right, it was a layer break problem...Good ol' Nero has let me down again.
Turns out you need to burn with DVD Decrypter (which will insert the layer break). Nero will not.
So the complete story -
Outputted 9gb dvd folder from TMPGenc DVD Auth. (This time I did use TDA 1.6, though im not sure this had anything to do with my success)
Used DVDShrink 3.2 with 'remove layer break' unticked in preferences.
Selceted 'create ISO & burn with DVDDecrypter' with 'Create optimal layer break for DL media' ticked in settings.Common Sense : Although you have it, legally, these days you dont have to use it.
