Don't know too much about Lightscribe, other than it can take FOREVER when doing the whole disc.
ALL I want to print on my disc is say "Grateful Dead 5/8/77 Disc 1"
How much extra time will that take?

I personally like Lightscribe because it is cheap and no smearing compared to inkjet printing. And the people who have seen the labels I created really liked them.
The amount of printing affects how quickly it will finish. A full disc takes about 28 minutes at highest quality, but just text with no background took me about 15 minutes the last time I did it.
Since this uses very little CPU time, it is very easy to set up the burn, start it, and then move on to other stuff while it burns.
Laters!!
