I have 2 xvid files 700mb each i want to join

I've tried about a dozen different joining programs but they all mess up at 1 point or another or cant join an xvid!

Can anybody recommend a good program to join these 2 avi files?
keep in mind ive tried almost every program out there

    Thanks

P.S - i use a very fast computer - 2.8 ghz, 512 ram so the computer is not the problem

VirtualDub can join. If it can't, there's something different between the 2 AVIs (like bitrate, resolution & c.)
Why would you like to join these? For most other reasons than "I just want 1 file rather than two" there are ways to avoid joining.

    I tried that

It says "couldnt locate decompressor for format XVid(unknown)"

I want to join them so i can then convert the joint file to dvd format

Get the latest XviD codec. (Or ffdshow) Without that you wont be able to do anything with your file anyway.
Best is to not join, but encode each AVI to DVD specs mpg, then author with TMPGEnc DVD Author, as 2 parts of the same title. If you remove the chapter point TDA inserts where part 2 starts, it will play as one continous movie.
