    i am stuck on installing codecs

    i had to format my pc due to a virus therfore iv lost all my codecs and when i play a film it plays , the sound is right but the video colours are wrong and the picture is not good plz sum1 help me.

    What do you use to play the video? What codec is used in the problem video? You have to be much more specific!

    iv tried using vlc player and windows media player and divx player but cant get it right

    the file is called
    damian.Saw.2.dvdscr.xvid
    so i supose its xvid isi i haven got a clue about codecs plz sum1 help

    Due to lack of information on what video format you are asking about, I would suggest you use a program like Gspot or AVIcodec to identify the codec you need and download just that one and install it.

    For Divx, Xvid and the like ffdshow works well for many of us. And that sounds like a Xvid type of problem from using a wrong or corrupted codec.

    BTW, don't be tempted by a codec pack, as you will have much more problems than solutions.

    That appears to be a DVD screener and would be warez and in violation of the AUP.

    Buy the DVD. And read the AUP.
