  1. Hi folks,

I've discovered that Canon's CD-Label printing software is very rudimentary (very difficult to increase size of images beyond the size of the disc), and Discus is probably the best I've seen (despite some quirks).

But I'm really puzzled by why, when I carefully set up a Photoshop template (width 131mm, height 238.7mm, with the test markers), that the resulting printout is skewhiff! For example, the test marker I place at the top of the disc appears in the right hand side, and the markers I placed at the left and right sides appear quite close together in the left side of the disc.

Weird. Anyone had success with printing direct from Photoshop?

I don't have an answer for you, but I posted a while back my complaints as well regarding cd-label software being a pain to use (when trying to increase the size of images beyond the size of the disc). I tried discus and other programs but found that nothing really worked all that well or like I wanted. Therefore, I'm back to using cd-label and dealing with the pain. I would love to hear from someone about a way around the issue that we both don't like!

The Epson CD printing software can expand and position images to wherever you want on the CD. Drag to the required size, then click and drop them into position.

  4. I have never had any trouble increasing the size of the image to go beyond the size of the disc -- in fact, I have to do that most of the time because I mainly use TY printables, and the dimension is 0.5mm to 1mm (I forgot which one) larger than the limit of CD-Labelprint, which is 118mm.

I do use large resolution images most of the time though... But even with images I didn't scan myself, I was able to increase the size of the image to fit the area of the disc, provided that I was willing to live with the pixelations. (Either just drag the image at the edge to enlarge it, or go to the property page of the image and increase the image size by changing the numerical values of the dimensions)

I have never been able to print directly from Photoshop either; but I've learned to live with CD-Labelprint, so I don't need to print from Photoshop...

  5. How DO you guys use the Photoshop templates to fit the images anyway? I never learned how...
