I had recordered about 12 episodes of my kids favorite show. Went to put the disk in to record one more episode and it when into "preparing disk" mode, and never came out until I unplugged it. This was not a DVD RW disk . It was a DVD+R, so I don't see how it could overwrite anything, but apparently DVD+R's must have at least overwriteable table of contents? I am using imation +r disks.
Has this happened to anyone else? How can I recover the video ? (Ive tried isobuster already and a few others). Do other liteon owners have this happen? Why does it think the disk is blank?
Anyway, it did the same thing again today with a test disk, so I am switching disk types to Maxell to see if that helps - but should not have to!
Set top dvd recorders have a long way to go. Any recommendations for disks for an lvw-5007? or lite-on in general? BTw -- i did call their useless tech support and have the latest firmware..
