I have collected all my S8-films/VHS/Hi8 on DV-tapes. Now I want to capture all these tapes on my new 300GB HD. I cannot use Pinnacle because it can only take 17 minutes and I want one DV-tape to be one file.
Then I tried WinDV but it only creates an AVI-file of about 4,2GB (3,99). Then WinDV continues to capture but it just looks like it captures - it does not. At least there is no growing file on the HD. I havre tried with two different DV-tapes.
I have put max AVI size to 1000000 and disc. treshold to 0 and every n-th frame to 1.
Is there something I do wrong?

What operating system are you using? If you are using the FAT32 file system instead of NTFS, you will be limited to a maximum file size of 4GB.

I will look later when I am at home. However I have used Ulead 6 earlier and then there was no problem with big files - almost 13GB

Thank you very much for the help. This new Iomega HD was in FAT32. I formatted it to NTFS and now everything worked fine.
