Being that both of these apps ceased development about a year ago, have any new ones taken their place?

I remember reading a while back that there were new forms of encrytion that Shrink could not remove but decrypter could.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

    thanks

dvdfab decrypter seems to be popular these days.
    If in doubt, Google it.

is DvdDecrypter still capable of removing all the encryptions?

I would like to continue using Decypter for my 'decrypting' needs for as long as possible.

If another app comes along that has as much support as it once had, then I will switch.

DVDDecrypter still works just fine on everything that's been released up til the last time DVDDecrypter was updated. DVDShrink, too.

  5. even smartripper is an awesome program still, its just that it cant tear through newer protections....dvdfabdecryptor seems to be the program of choice for that these days.....but if your just tryin to back up your older movie or even home movies for that matter, my personal opinion is smartripper....

  6. One could always buy AnyDVD. I have. It's quite good and it is frequently updated as well. I then simply use DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter alongside it.

Actually, I've stumbled on 2 DVDs so far, that neither DVDDecrypter nor DVDShrink could rip. Those, DVDFab Decrypter took care of.

dvd decrypter by choice if I have to dvd-fab only prob I have found with fab is it can some times work to good on a damaged dvd if you are not watching the prog and see it slow down it will force its way through the disc and later on when you watch the movie you will be missing a couple sec's to a couple min's depending on the parts it needed to skip to continue and complete.on the other hand decrypter will show you read errors and depending on your setting and eventually stop decrypting the disc wich i like because I can't stand a screwed up movie.I have never had any probs with any dvd and use it on occasion with great sucess.
