  1. Hi, I was just using DJRumpy's guide (https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=222898) to convert xvid avi files to mpeg2 files to record to DVD.

I've been able to do everything correctly so far and right now, as I write, TMPGEnc is converting the file. The only problem, my audio was about half a second fast in the first place. I don't know how to fix that.

Should I have fixed that first, before the conversion? Can I still fix it afterwards? And even worse, I just joined to xvid avi's and the sound COULD have been out of sync differently on both of those files.

    Any suggestions?

    Virtualdub, Audio>interleaving>audio skew correction.

You should have done that first, I don't know any good ways to do it after.

Joining files can cause sync problems, it's usually better to just let the authoring program "join" your clips.

Use Virtualdub to demux the Video (Direct Stream copy) to a new AVI file. Demux Audio (Full Processing) to wav format. Mux the new video and audio wav file. Then encode this new file with TMPGEnc.

If the AVI file is 23.97fps, set your encoder to 29.97fps.
