  1. what tool is the best for converting wav files to surround? Also is there any tool that can take in six separate wav files and then use that to create a surround sound file (ac3 or dts)? I am not sure if the gui4ffmpeg can do this. I read things on BeSweet and it seems a little complicated. Please help I'm new to the audio conversion. thanks

You can use one of the guis for besweet so you don't have to worry about the commandline interface. BeLight is on GUI to look at. gui4ffmpeg or ffmpeggui are about the only other free choices.

Surcode produce software for creating DTS or AC3 audio from seperate mono tracks, but it isn't cheap. Vegas can also fo it with the AC3 plugin.

Most other software will only produce 2 channel AC3.
