well, i was trying to load a minidv tape into the camcorder with one hand while holding the camcorder in another. being clumsy, i accidentally dropped it...i broke the fall, but it was a bit too harsh on the camcorder. now when i power on, everything still runs fine, lens is ok, CCD is ok, zoom is ok, tape drive mechism is ok. everything works except for one thing...the damn tape door. i can see the drive heads move around and everything, but at the end of the sequence, the door is jammed and won't open. the camcorder still runs, but i have to flip it into playback mode to get the drive to go down (since it expects the door to open and close back up before loading). any clue on how to open the door? if i HAVE to take it to a repair shop to get it fixed, anybody's guess on how much it will cost? i'm guessing that since it's only the door, it wouldn't be as massive as a shattered CCD.
p.s.: the only thing that keeps on moving at the part where the sequence stops is a gear in the top left part of the drive...it keeps on spinning slighlty clockwise and counter clockwise repeatedly until it just gives up.
