  1. Im using the latest vers of Tmpgenc I have all the codecs installed, but when I try to convert the movie "The Others" I get the error has occurred as ACM was initialized.
I have never had this problem before with any file but recently I installed XP and now this happens to me, is this a coincidence.

  2. I'm having the same problem. Says "The error occured when ACM was initialized". I've attempted to make the DirectShow Multimedia File Reader higher in priority but at some point, the error changes. It then states that "the file is not supported" or something to that effect.

    What gives?

windows Audio Compression Manager is what ACM is ..

The audio compression manager PCM converter is used to provide sample rate and format conversion between an application and the actual hardware codec. Typically the hardware codec does not support all the various Windows standard PCM formats and sample rates. This driver converts PCM audio streams from the following formats to the hardware codec native support.
Format conversions from Mono 8 bit, Mono 16 bit, Stereo 8 bit, and Stereo 16 bit formats to the hardware native format.

Sample rate conversions from 8kHz, 11.025kHz, 22.050kHz, 44.1kHz, and 48kHz to the hardware native format.

have you installed a 3rd party program like toolame or scccr ? if not you should perhaps ..

This did the trick for me to solve this problem as I had re-ordered my VFAPI Environment Settings from advice on one of the forums (I believe).

Go to TMPGENC's Options, Environmental Settings
Click on the last tab, VFAPI plugin
Right Click anywhere and select Reset To Recommended Setting

    Hope this helps.
