I have a wierd problem that I thought could be fixed with the right drivers. I've tried to fix it many times and have done hours of research.

    Here it is...

I usually use Zoom Player to play all my video content, except for VCDs, which I use the Windows Media Player (or classic). In both cases I get video, but no audio. However, I can play MPGs in Winamp and get both audio and video, but it doesn't use the nice video that the overlay gives you.

I had installed the K-Lite Mega Codec pack v 1.25, but still no audio. At least I could see the video. After upgrading the codec pack to v 1.45, now all the Windows Media Player does is says "Connecting...", as if searching for a codec online, but nothing else happens. My DVD-ROM light is going crazy like its reading, but I get nothing.

Before installing the new K-Lite Mega Codec pack, I tried installing the latest versions of the AC3 Filter and the AC3 Decompressor. If I can't even get the VCD to play the video portion, I may uninstall the new codec pack.

Please let me know if there's any more information I need to fix this problem.

    Thanks.

probably some audio codec problems. try play with videolan, does it work?

and uninstall all codecs packs and just install the codecs you need, you can identify video with gspot, avicodec.

VideoLAN did the trick for VCDs and, for some reason, Zoom PLayer now plays both the audio and video of my MPGs.

    Thanks for your help.
