    I want to convert my exported FCP sequence (DV codec) to XviD, but ffmpegX is giving me some trouble.

    I'm using the XviD [.avi] (ffmpeg) setting... And changing the aspect ratio to 4:3 (640x480), audio to .MP3... however, the final output does result in the correct aspect ratio, but the video has black bars along the top and bottom. Also, I'm not getting any audio. All the settings appear to be correct.

    Any tips? Better methods for converting? Thanks.

    there is a program called dvolution that can do what you need.
    Also I've been using toast 7 to go to divx (not xvid)
