    Here is my process.

    1. Download from tivo
    2. Convert with Dirctshow Dump
    3. DVDpatcher to change 1st header only horizontal to 720
    4. Author with TMPGEnc
    5. DVDpatcher to change 1st VOB horizontal back to 480
    6. Burn with copytodvd.

After this process, the dvd plays fine in my pc using windvd, but when I put it into my toshiba standalone dvdplayer, the video is not centered? The begining of the show starts about 3/4 of the way on the screen and the show wraps back around so that on the left hand side of the screen is the rest of the show.

Example: show should look like ABCD, but actually looks like DABC on the screen. Hope you get this example.

Well, I just tried the dvd in 2 other players, a Sony and my PS2 and the dvd plays fine? So it must be my Toshiba then? I have thrown tons of made dvds at this toshiba and all have worked till now? Any ideas on what dvd player I should buy?

It's not a media incompatibility issue is it? I know that my Toshiba SD2800 only plays DVD-R(W).

no it plays +r/+rw and +RDL. The disc I am trying is a +rw disc. I guess after making the dvd it isn't in dvd compliant form? 480x480. I'm going to try and run the edited video through mydvd(the program that I wanted to get away from editing with because it is slow and freezes.) I edited this video with TMPGEnc already, so I'm going to try and create a menu and then burn it with mydvd. I'll let you know how it turns out....

You are making a DVD which does NOT conform the DVD specifications so it's a risk you are taking.

Same happens here with my older pioneer DVD player.
It does not properly playback non DVD resolutions. (like 480 horizontal)
