  1. In need of a small quantity of decent-brand DVD10 dual-sided ("flipper") blanks; + or -. Just like a five-pack or so. Several places checked had them only in spindles of 25+. Any ideas?

Rima still has 10-packs of Ritek Double Sided DVD-R's for $1 per disc. I've used them in the past and they were the best recordable flippers I've used. If it's the same stock I bought last time (the cases look exactly the same), then they are 9.4GB G04's. Can burn up to 4x on some drives:

I have Ritek G03 and G04 flippers from as far back as 2002 and they all held up very well, without any issues. At times there were some burning problems, but if they burned well they held up well too.

  3. Thanks BA, sorry I hadn't gotten back but was gone several days. Anyhow, I ordered a pack of these so we'll see how they work out.

Also, if I remember correctly, you were the one who came up w/ the decent way to make +R DL backups, right (RN7.3)? Done several dozen now w/o problems!

Yes, please report here how they worked for you, and if they are still G04's.

That's good that your DL burns are successful too. I've pretty much defaulted to RN 7.3 for any type of VIDEO_TS burning, both DVD5 and DVD9 (well, DVD10 too ). It's hard to mess up anything in it and it produces highly compatible results. I like complicated things with lots of options, but sometimes, as in RN 7.3 case, you don't really need to "fix" something that works already out of the box. Most people complain about RN 7.3's overly simple interface, so did I for a little while. But honestly, now I'm quite happy not to deal with tonnes of settings before each burn (troubled Nero for example, or even other Prassi-engined programs that I really like). I pretty much know that RN 7.3 will burn well no matter what, as long as the burner and the media are in good condition. Well, anyway, back to topic.
